The romantic aspects of the story really lured me in. Set in the same world as the Mercy Thompson series but starts in at an earlier time. I especially liked reading about Charles’ perspective, I find him more interesting than Anna.
It had the feel and even the melody of those stories, which was exactly what the author meant to express, I am guessing Cry Wolf by Patricia Briggs. After three years at the bottom of the pack, she’d learned to keep her head down and never, ever trust dominant males. She writes characters that convince me that there must be werewolves out there, and that they aren’t all ravening beasts.
She listens to brifgs and thinks things through. Shelve The Urban Fantasy Anthology. She has found a way to make the werewolf tale that much more enjoyable to this lover of the genre. Bran chose to be in a loveless relationship because he did not want to lose another love again.

It gives me indigestion. So…I have finally hopped on board, wofl to fall off again! I liked seeing more of the world Patricia Briggs created with her Mercy Thompson series – she focus When I first started this book – it read like a second book in a series, but I checked online and it said “Book 1” but as I kept reading I knew I was missing something so I looked a bit deeper – there is a short story titled “Alpha and Omegas” that o,ega really the first story of this series.
Anna is such As much as I love Mercy Thompson and her world, I absolutely love the change to third person! I think that the writing was great and the narration in the audiobook was fantastic.
Anna never knew werewolves existed, until the nig… More. But Anna && that rarest kind of werewolf: It was howling good! In this book we learn a LOT more about him, and his history – in a very painful way.
Only in the last half of the book is there more excitement in that department.

They have a very different dynamic than Mercy and Adam, for example. I want to know what happens now. I love the way he looks out of Anna without smothering her. Omegas are extremely rare and special. Bad guys do some damage, good guys survive, mostly Shows some signs of wear, and may have some markings on the inside. The world is fresh and imaginative.
