The present study describes the habituation of a group of Callithrix flaviceps Thomas, in the Augusto Ruschi Biological Reserve. The habituation process took place between August and November, The methodology used consisted in pursuing the study group as long as possible. Due to initial difficulties to locate and follow the study group, some trails were cut in the areas where the group was previously sighted.
Then, the observer primatologja these trails to follow the group, instead of going directly after it. The observer also avoided looking directly to the marmosets and bent down during contact time, what seemed to reduce the stress of the group.
Continuous contact with the group increased progressively and the marmosets tolerated the observer more and more, what allowed the use of binoculars. After 88 days, the group was considered habituated.
A total of hours of field effort and contact hours were necessary to complete the habituation processes.

The habituation of other callitrichid groups demanded months. The methodology used choice of the target group, trail cutting, following the group as peacefully as possible, avoiding looking directly to the marmosets and the intense effort made up an efficient strategy to habituate the study group, as the goal was reached in only three months.

The patterns of land use were significantly different on the farms where the blond titi was found or was absent.
Blond titis were more likely to have disappeared from areas where rural agriculture was predominant, and were more commonly found in areas where cattle-farming was the main activity.

Field primatology in Argentina. Oklander 1,2, Silvana M. Alouatta clamitans e Cebus cay. In this article we present a review of the research developed on wild primate populations in Argentina. This article compiles information on which primate species and which research topics, as ecology, behavior, genetics, parasitology and conservation, have been priory studied by primatologists in the last 13 years, in the only five primate species that inhabit Argentina: This review also presents the current status of primatological studies in Argentina, the areas that need further studies, and the conservation status primatologoa these primate species in our country.
We observed that there is a bias focusing research on Jo caraya and deficient primatilogia on less known and more vulnerable primates in Argentina, such as Alouatta clamitans and Cebus cay.
We find few studies focusing primarily in conservation. As a result, the application of current research into conservation initiatives has been scarce. The high rates of deforestation in Argentina indicate the urgent need of further studies on the effects of antropic habitat alteration on primates in order to develop future management strategies, and to advise Provincial and National government on the conservation status of these species in Argentina.
